People and Statistics
In HotClays, people are shooters. For example, if you were the coach of a high school clay target team, you would add a person in HotClays for each member of your team. You would not add a person for a coach, nor for a parent who keeps score: Even though those people view and edit scores, they do not participate in the rounds, therefore you don’t need to add them as people in HotClays.
To view and manage your people, navigate to the People tab, which is the second tab in the tab bar at the bottom of the app.
Create a Person
There are two ways to create a person:
- The primary way to create a person is by starting from the People tab. First navigate to the People tab. Then tap the ‘+’ button, in the top-right corner on iOS and the bottom-right corner on Android.
- Alternatively, you can create a person on the fly when starting a new round (see ‘Create a New Round’ to get started). When choosing the group for the round, there is a ‘New Person’ button in the top-right corner. Tap the button to start creating a new person.
The remaining steps are the same for both methods.
You will now see a page with text fields for the person’s name, and several other fields for additional information. Only the name is required (at least first or last name). Enter the person’s information, then tap ‘Save’ in the top-right corner.
Edit a Person
To edit a person’s information, first navigate to the People tab. Locate the person you’d like to edit, and tap on their name to view the person. Tap the dots in the top-right corner, then tap ‘Edit.’ You will be presented with a page containing the user’s information. Make your edits, then tap ‘Save’ in the top-right corner.
Delete a Person
To delete a person, first navigate to the People tab. Locate the person you’d like to delete, and tap on their name to view the person. Tap the dots in the top-right corner, then tap ‘Delete.’ A pop-up will appear asking you to confirm that you would like to delete the person. If you are sure, tap ‘Delete’ to finish deleting the person.
Note that deleting a person removes them from your list of people, but it does not delete all their scores. It’s also worth noting that once you delete a person, they are no longer counted towards the 15-person limit for non-Premium accounts.
