Getting Started

This is the first page of the HotClays support pages. The support pages are a complete reference manual for HotClays. If you are new to HotClays, we recommend taking the tutorial first.

HotClays is a paperless scoring system for trap, skeet, and sporting clays. Scorers do not use a clipboard, pencil, and paper. Instead, scorers use a mobile device (phone or tablet) running the HotClays app. When scorers use HotClays, the scores can be viewed in real time on the HotClays website or in the app. Scorecards can be shared in a format that looks like a traditional scorecard and can be sent over text or email.

Paperless scoring has many advantages over paper scoring, including:

There is a learning curve, but if you invest the effort to learn HotClays, it will save you significant time and hassle in the long run.

Installation

On mobile devices, download the HotClays app on the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store. Note that HotClays is not supported on Amazon Kindle devices at this time. On desktop computers, use a web browser to visit hotclays.com. There is no need to install anything for desktop computers.

Account Setup

You can use HotClays without creating a free account. However, you need to create a free account and log in to enable many useful features including online backup, syncing between devices, multiple scorers per event, and sharing scores for viewing in-app or on the website.

To create a free account, navigate to the Account tab and tap the topmost row titled ‘Sign Up / Log In.’ Then tap ‘Sign Up Free.’ Enter your first name, last name, email, and a password. Then tap ‘Sign Up’ to finish signing up.

Alternatively, you can sign up on the HotClays website. You use the same account on the HotClays app and website, so you only need to sign up in one place.
